Error Message: 441 (442) Article Rejected -- Failed to Mail Article (287033)

SYMPTOMS

When you have Network News Transfer Protocol (NNTP) Virtual Server service set up in Exchange 2000 on a computer that runs Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 2, you may receive the following error message after you post more than one message to a moderated group:

441 (442) Article Rejected -- Failed to mail Article to moderator@domain.com

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the smart host is set in NNTP to point to a server that does not accept multiple HELO commands.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
