When you are editing an HTML document in Microsoft Word, and you change the Encoding setting under Web Options to Unicode or Unicode (Big-Endian), the document may unexpectedly display numerous Asian characters.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the document contains characters that are not supported by Unicode.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
