WD2002: Mail Merge Wizard Does Not Start After Run-Time Errors (286878)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to start the Mail Merge Wizard, nothing happens. When you try again, the wizard starts as expected.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when Word generates a valid run-time error while you attempt to execute Visual Basic code. When you then attempt to open the Mail Merge Wizard, the wizard is prevented does not open on the first try.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, attempt to open the Mail Merge Wizard again. To do this, on the Tools menu, point to Letters and Mailings, and then click Mail Merge Wizard a second time.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
