WD2002: Right Side of Markup Balloon Is Cut Off When Printed (286852)

SYMPTOMS

When you print a Microsoft Word document that includes tracked changes, the markup balloons in the document may not be completely printed: The right side of the balloons may be cut off or clipped.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if you print the document on an NEC SuperScript 860 laser printer.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, print a list of the changes in your document. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the File menu, click Print.
  2. In the Print dialog box, click List of markup in the Print what list, and then click OK. The contents of the Reviewing pane are printed.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

To view a list of changes in your document, display the Reviewing pane. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Reviewing if it is not already selected.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Track Changes if this feature is not already turned on.
  3. On the Reviewing toolbar, click Show, and then click Reviewing Pane on the shortcut menu that appears. The changes that you make in the document are recorded in the Reviewing pane.
