This article was previously published under Q286826 SYMPTOMS
When you use the Exchange 2000 Migration Wizard to migrate Lotus Notes R5 users and their mail to Exchange 2000, certain mail messages in the notes mail databases may not migrate. The following event ID 12024 error message may be logged in the Application event log:
Event ID: 12024
Source: MSExchangeMig
Type: Error
Description: While migrating Lotus Notes user '%1', '%2' messages were skipped because of errors encountered during their conversion.
CAUSE
This problem can occur if the messages are encrypted in a way that the Migration Wizard does not understand. The Migration Wizard should set the "Encrypted" flag and return the message, but the Migration Wizard returns an error instead. This is because the Migration Wizard is looking for a "NewDate" field. Notes R5 puts this information in the "NewStartDate," "NewEndDate," "NewStartTime," and "NewEndTime" fields. This results in a parse error, and Exchange 2000 does not to migrate the message.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the
