SYMPTOMS

After you install Crystal Reports 8 from Seagate Corporation, you may notice that your ASP pages no longer function, in which case you receive the following error message in the system event log:
Event ID 36
Source: W3SVC
Description:The server failed to load application '/LM/W3SVC/1/ROOT'. The error was 'No such interface supported'.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur because, during the installation of Crystal Reports 8, permissions for the registry subkeys and their lower-level subkeys are modified. The permission setting for the Everyone group is changed from Special Access to Full Control. The following is an example of the affected registry subkeys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ODBC\odbc.ini
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{000204EF-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\6.0\9\win32
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface
