A Language Error Prevents Upgrade to Small Business Server 2000 (286392)

When you upgrade to Microsoft Small Business Server 2000, you may receive the following message at the Suite Requirements Setup dialog box:
Cannot upgrade to Microsoft Small Business Server 2000 with language English (United States). This computer is running Microsoft Small Business Server with language Language Neutral.
This message is displayed even if the computer's regional language configuration is set to "English (United States)".
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, you must perform the following steps:
- Copy the Bkoffice folder from the root of the Small Business Server 2000 CD-ROM #1 to a partition on the Small Business Server-based computer.
- Remove the Read Only attribute from the Setup.sdb file in the Bkoffice folder on your hard disk drive. Location of the file Setup.sdb is \Bkoffice\i386\>.
- Place a semi-colon in front of the following line in the Suite Requirements section of the file:
;bosreqs.dll, GFN_CID LangCheck
- Double-click Setup.exe in the copied folder to start Setup.
NOTE: During Setup you are prompted for source installation files. Since Setup had been started from the directory that had been copied to the hard disk drive in step 1, you must type in or browse to the location of the source files CD-ROMs when prompted during Setup.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
