SYMPTOMS

When you use Propfind to get item property values (HTTP/WebDAV), a schema tag (ptag) is returned that begins with a number instead of a letter. The ptag in question is 0x001A001F.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 1.

After you install the hotfix, the Exchange 2000 schema will not be updated until you complete the following steps.   1. Modify the values in the following registry key

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControl\Services\MSExchangeIS\Schema

    by setting the DWORD values to 0.
  2. Restart the server.
