This article was previously published under Q286225 SYMPTOMS
When users on your network attempt to access the Internet through a Proxy Server, the client browsers may return the following error message:
"The requested header was not found"
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when Proxy access control is enabled but no users or groups have been granted any form of access.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, give user groups the appropriate rights and permissions. Follow these steps: - Create a local group on the Proxy Server for each level of access you want to allow through the Proxy, and then add the global groups or user accounts to the appropriate local group.
- Add the groups to the desired protocols in the Web Proxy and Winsock Proxy services.
- In User Manager for Domains, give the groups the User right to Log on Locally.
- Give the local groups the indicated permissions to the following folders:

Winnt----------------------------READ (RX)
Winnt\System32-----------------CHANGE (RWXD)
Winnt\System32\Inetsrv----------READ (RX)
Winnt\System32\Inetsrv\Asp------READ (RX) (and all subdirectories)
Program Files\Common Files-------READ (RX) (and all subdirectories)
