SUMMARY

You send messages from a Microsoft Office XP program or from a Microsoft Office 2003 program by using Microsoft Outlook 2002 or Microsoft Office Outlook 2003. When you do this, the messages may be sent in Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) format, even though the default e-mail format is Microsoft Outlook Rich Text format.

MORE INFORMATION

By default, the other Microsoft Office programs send messages in HTML format so that the recipient does not have to have Office to read the message.

To make sure that messages from other Office programs are sent in Rich Text format, click the Always send in Outlook Rich Text format option for the recipient's address record. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start an Office program (for example, Microsoft Word), and type some formatted text (bold, italicized, colored, and so on).
  2. On the File menu, point to Send, and then click Mail Recipient.
  3. In the To box, type the Internet address of the recipient.
  4. Press CTRL+K to resolve the address if it is not automatically resolved.
  5. Right-click the underlined address, click Properties, click to select Always send in Outlook Rich Text format, and then click OK.
  6. Send the message.
