The information in the Help topic "To unblock someone you have blocked from Outlook Express" is correct, but it assumes that you have not turned off the Outlook Express option to display the contacts pane. The procedure to unblock a contact that you have blocked should include the following information:

To unblock someone you have blocked from Outlook Express

To unblock someone who is online, follow these steps:
  1. In the contacts pane in Outlook Express, double-click the name of the contact you want to unblock.

    NOTE: If the contacts pane is not already displayed in Outlook Express, on the View menu, click Layout. Click to select the Contacts check box, and then click OK. Note that this information is not included in the Microsoft Outlook 5.5 Help files.
  2. In the Instant Message window, click the Unblock button.

    This person can now view your online status and send you messages.
To unblock someone who is not online, follow these steps:
  1. In Outlook Express, on the Tools menu, point to the name of your messenger service, and then click Options.
  2. Click the Privacy tab.
  3. In the My Block list, click the name of the person you want to unblock, and then click Allow.
