SYMPTOMS

The times recorded in the time field in the Windows Media Services server logs may be off by several hours.

CAUSE

Windows Media Services logs are recorded in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Therefore, depending on your time zone, you may be from 0 hours to 12 hours off.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

Windows Media Services records its logs in GMT to be consistent with the HTTP 1.0 RFC (Request for Comment) 1945.
