SideWinder: Button 9 does not exist on Game Controller (285668)

SYMPTOMS

When you configure button assignments in a game or in the Game Controllers tool in Control Panel, you may notice an option for button 9 even though there is no button 9 available.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if the generic properties for the game controller is displayed instead of the correct SideWinder properties for the device.
