FP2002: Difficulty in Selecting a Table and a Paragraph at the Same Time (285653)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FrontPage 2002

This article was previously published under Q285653

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft FrontPage, you may experience difficulty in selecting a table and any items below it -- for example, another table, a paragraph, or an inserted object -- at the same time.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur whenever a table is the first object on a page that you attempt to select. If any text object, or another object such as a picture, is above the table and it is selected first, you can also select the table and all or some of the other objects on the page. Even when other objects are above the table, if the table is the first thing selected, you cannot select anything below the table.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, select a blank text object above the table, and then select all or some of the remaining objects on the page. To add a blank text object above a table, follow these steps:
  1. Place the insertion point above the table.
  2. Press SPACEBAR.
You may also be able to select the objects that you want by placing the mouse pointer at the end of the document and selecting the objects by moving the pointer back towards the beginning of the document.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
