SYMPTOMS

In the Insert Clip Art task pane, when you click the Results should be list, and then click to clear the All media types check box, the check boxes next to the media types indented below All media types remain selected.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the All media types check box is designed to allow you to select all of the media types when you click to select it. The All media types check box is not designed to clear the selection of all media types when you click to clear it.

RESOLUTION

To remove a media type from the media search options, follow these steps:
  1. In the Insert Clip Art task pane, click the arrow in the Results should be box.
  2. Click to clear each of the media type check boxes that you do not want included in the search.

Note that when you click to clear any media type check box, the All media types check box is automatically cleared.

MORE INFORMATION

To use the Insert Clip Art task pane, follow these steps:
  1. Start the Microsoft Office program that you want.
