When you use Microsoft Clip Organizer, there may be some differences in the way that you can manipulate files in Clip Organizer, depending on whether you are looking in Thumbnails view, List view, or Details view.

The following is a list of the differences in the way that you use each different view:

Details View

  • A list of files appears, including the file name, file size, file type, caption, keyword, and date.
  • A shortcut menu appears when you right-click the background outside of a file name.
  • A shortcut menu appears when you right-click the file name.
  • You can change the order that files are listed in. (Click the column name to change the order of the files.)
  • You cannot view image properties by pointing to the file name.

List View

  • A list of files appears, showing only the file name.
  • A shortcut menu appears when you right-click the background outside of a file name.
  • A shortcut menu appears when you right-click the file name.
  • You cannot change the order that files are listed in.
  • You cannot view image properties by pointing to the file name.

Thumbnails View

  • A gallery of thumbnail images appears.
  • A shortcut menu does not appear when you right-click the background outside of a thumbnail image.
  • A shortcut menu appears when you click the arrow in a thumbnail image.
  • You cannot change the order that files are listed in.
  • You can view image properties by pointing to the thumbnail image.
