Complementary Color, Contrasting Color, and other animations change text color to black in Web presentation (285597)

You may see animated text turn black when you are using the following animation effects:
- Complementary Color
- Complementary Color2
- Contrasting Color
- Darken
- Desaturate
You may see these symptoms when you view a slide show in Web Preview in PowerPoint, or when you view a Web archive in a Web browser.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because of the way PowerPoint creates the HTML color information for the Web presentation.
WORKAROUNDFor PowerPoint 2003 and for PowerPoint 2002To work around this behavior, follow these steps:
- Start PowerPoint, and then open the presentation.
- Click the animated text.
- On the Slide Show menu, click Custom Animation.
- In the Custom Animation task pane, click the arrow next to the effect in the effect list, and then click Effect Options.
- On the Effect tab, in the Animate text box, click By word or By letter.
- Change the % delay between words box (or the to % delay between letters box) to 0.
- Click OK.
