The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2002

This article was previously published under Q285588

SYMPTOMS

When you create a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation that uses the Light Speed exit effect from the Custom Animation task pane, and you then view the presentation in Microsoft Internet Explorer, the text or object appears to exit the slide differently than it does when viewed in PowerPoint.

NOTE: When you view the slide in Internet Explorer, the Light Speed exit effect appears similar to the Fly Out exit effect.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because Internet Explorer is unable to accurately re-create the PowerPoint Light Speed exit animation.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, make sure that you click Web Page Preview on the File menu to view the presentation in Internet Explorer. If the appearance of the animation in Internet Explorer does not satisfy your needs, select an alternative effect.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
