Stretch animation performs differently in Internet Explorer (285575)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2002
This article was previously published under Q285575 SYMPTOMS
When you view a presentation in Microsoft Internet Explorer, the Stretch animation effect does not appear the same as it appeared in Microsoft Office PowerPoint.
NOTE: In Internet Explorer the animation appears similar to the Grow animation effect.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when you create a PowerPoint presentation that applies the Stretch animation effect to text only. When you apply the Stretch animation effect to text in PowerPoint, the Stretch animation effect functions differently in Internet Explorer.
NOTE: The Stretch animation effect behaves differently only when it is applied to text. If you apply the Stretch animation effect to an object, the effect functions as expected in Internet Explorer.
WORKAROUNDFor PowerPoint 2002 and for PowerPoint 2003To work around this behavior, make sure that you click Web Page Preview on the File menu to see how the presentation will look in Internet Explorer. If the animation in Internet Explorer does not work for your needs, choose an alternative effect.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
