SYMPTOMS

When you have a video in a PowerPoint presentation as a media clip object, a control bar may appear during a slide show when the video clip is played.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur when you have inserted your movie as a media clip object, and the control bar setting for the media clip is turned on.

RESOLUTION

To hide the controls when playing a media clip, follow these steps:
  1. Start PowerPoint, and then open the presentation.
  2. Right-click the video object, point to Video Clip Object, and then click Edit.
  3. On the Media Player Edit menu, click Options.
  4. Click to clear the Control Bar On Playback check box, and then click OK.

The behavior described in the "Symptoms" section of this article can occur when you do the following:
  • On Insert menu, you click Object, and then you click Media Clip.
This behavior does not occur when you do the following:
  • On Insert menu, you point to Movies and Sounds, and then you click Movie from File or Movie from Clip Organizer.
