The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2002
This article was previously published under Q285466 SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to print a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation that contains a Lotus Freelance 97 graphic as a metafile with gradient colors, the gradient colors in the foreground are not printed as expected, although their backgrounds are printed.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when you print the slide on a PostScript printer. The metafile implements the gradient colors by using a technique that is not supported by PostScript printers.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, follow these steps:
- Right-click the inserted graphic, point to Grouping, and then click Ungroup. When prompted about whether you want to convert the object, click Yes.
- Select individual elements within the graphic and edit them as needed by using the tools on the Drawing toolbar.
