TrueType fonts are not saved with a PowerPoint 2002 or PowerPoint 2003 presentation (285416)

This article was previously published under Q285416 SYMPTOMS When you save a presentation on one computer, and then open
the presentation on a different computer, some of the text in TrueType fonts
may not appear correctly, even though you have selected the setting to embed
TrueType fonts when the presentation is saved. There are no error or warning
messages when you save the presentation. CAUSE This problem can occur when both of the following
conditions are true:
- The TrueType font could not be embedded.
-and-
- The presentation was saved programmatically with a
Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications macro.
WORKAROUND To work around this problem, follow these steps:
- On the computer on which the presentation was created,
start PowerPoint and open the presentation.
- On the File menu, click Save As. Give the file a new name, and then click Save.
- Review the warning message for saving fonts, and then click
Cancel.
- Do either of the following steps:
- Change the font in PowerPoint to a font that already
exists on both computers.
-or- - Install the font referenced in the PowerPoint warning
message so that the font exists on both computers.
NOTE: You must have the proper software licenses to install a
copyrighted font on a computer. For more information, please contact your font
manufacturer.
- Save the presentation again.
