PPT2002: You Cannot Vary the Format of the Slides in a Photo Album (285409)

SYMPTOMS

When you create a Photo Album in Microsoft Power Point, all of the slides have the same format. When you select one slide from the Photo Album thumbnails and then attempt to change the format on that slide, all of the slides in the Photo Album change to the new format.

This behavior occurs with any change that you make in the Album Layout area of the Format Photo Album dialog box.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the Photo Album is designed so that you can create an album from a large number of pictures quickly and easily. The Photo Album tool accomplishes this task by making changes to all of the slides, so that each slide has a uniform look.

RESOLUTION

There is no way to work around this behavior while you are using the Photo Album. If you want to vary the look of each slide on a PowerPoint slide show, you can use the PowerPoint presentation tools to create individual slides. You can then use AutoShapes to create various frame shapes and use the pictures as fills for the AutoShapes.
