PUB2002: Can't Use the Picture Toolbar to Replace Logo Picture (285378)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Publisher 2002

This article was previously published under Q285378

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to replace the picture inside of a logo (by selecting the picture, and then using the Insert Picture From File command), the original logo picture is not replaced with the new picture.

CAUSE

The Logo Wizard is a new feature in Office XP. Although you can customize the logo and replace the picture, the picture portion of the logo does not behave the same way an ordinary picture does, and so you cannot use the Insert Picture From File command to replace the picture portion of the logo.

WORKAROUND

Replace a Logo Picture

To replace the picture inside the logo, follow these steps:
  1. Start Publisher, and then open your publication.
  2. On the Insert menu, point to Personal Information, and then click Logo.
  3. Right-click the picture inside the logo, point to Change Picture on the shortcut menu, and then click From File or Clip Art to locate the picture that you want to use.
  4. Select the picture that you want to use, and then click Insert.
