This article was previously published under Q285373 SYMPTOMS
When you start Microsoft Publisher and click any of the wizards listed under Start from a design in the New Publication task pane, you receive a message similar to the following:
The wizard will fill in your name, address, and other information for you, so you don't have to enter it each time. Click OK to tell the wizard about yourself.
If you click OK or Cancel to dismiss this dialog box, the message appears each time that you start a new publication.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the wizard requires updated contact information, and it will prompt you each time a publication is created that requires this personal information.
RESOLUTION
This dialog box continues to appear until you click Update instead of OK or Cancel.
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- Start Publisher.
- In the New Publication task pane, click any of publication types in the list under Start from a design.
- Click any of the options under Quick Publications in the right pane.
- When the message appears, click OK.
- In the Personal Information dialog box, type the pertinent information, and then click Update.
NOTE: It is not necessary to enter any information if you don't want to. However, it is insufficient to click Update. Nevertheless, this wizard is designed to save you time in the future. Any information that you do not enter, you will have to enter manually each time that you create a publication that requires this information.
