PUB2002: Table Text Is Displayed in a Vertical Column When Viewed in Netscape (285360)

SYMPTOMS

If you use a Netscape Web browser to view a table created in Microsoft Publisher, the table may not be displayed correctly. The text in your table may be displayed in a single vertical column.

For example, a table that is displayed as follows in Publisher

4   5   6

may be displayed as follows when viewed in Netscape:

4
5
6

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the version of Netscape that is used to view the table does not support the code used by Publisher to create the table.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, do one of the following:
  • Download Netscape 6.0. This behavior does not occur in this version of Netscape.

    You can obtain Netscape 6.0 at the following Netscape Web site:
  • Use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 to view the Web page. You can obtain the latest version of Internet Explorer at the following Microsoft Web site:
