SYMPTOMS

When you save a PowerPoint presentation or slide in Web Page (HTML) format, and you then select the file in Windows Explorer, the preview displayed for the file may not look like the contents of the file. The preview for the HTML file is not the same as the preview for the original presentation file.

CAUSE

This behavior is caused by the way the preview information is created. The contents of the file are not affected.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
