BUG: BOL Incorrect on SAPASSWORD and USEDEFAULTSAPWD Options for SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine Installation (285103)

documents that you can use the SAPASSWORD and USEDEFAULTSAPWD parameters when
you install the SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine by using Microsoft Windows
Installer Merge modules. CAUSE The SQL Server 2000 Books Online documentation is
incorrect. The SAPASSWORD and USEDEFAULTSAPWD options are not available when
you use the products mentioned in the "Symptoms" section. WORKAROUND The SAPASSWORD and USEDEFAULTSAPWD options are unavailable
due to security purposes. If a system administrator (sa) password needs to
modified, you should be able to make the modification after the installation
completes successfully. STATUS Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server
