Exchange Event Source Is Displayed as "Exchange 2000 EES" (285099)

SYMPTOMS

When you are using the Microsoft Mobile Information Server System Manager, and you to want to view the event sources that are installed on a computer, when you click Default-Site, click Server, and then click Event sources, the event source that is running on an Exchange 2000-based server is displayed in the following format:

Exchange 2000 EES

However, this information should be displayed in the following format:

Exchange 2000

WORKAROUND

This issue can be safely ignored; it does not affect the performance or operation of the Mobile Information Server Exchange Notifications component.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

This issue may cause confusion because users may assume there is a difference between an Exchange 2000 and Exchange 2000 EES event source. However, this is not the case. The event source is referring to the Exchange Notifications component of Mobile Information Server that is located on the Exchange 2000-based server.
