This article describes how to preview a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation in color.
When you view a presentation in print preview, the presentation appears in grayscale or black and white if the selected printer cannot print in color. If you want to see how the presentation looks in color, you must install or switch to a color printer driver.

How to Install a Color Printer DriverNOTE: Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps. - Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
- Double-click the Add Printer icon. In the Add Printer Wizard, click Next.
- Click Local printer, click to clear the Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer check box (in Microsoft Windows 2000 only), and then click Next.
- In the list of printer ports, click FILE, and then click Next.
- In the Manufacturers list, click Apple, click Apple Color LaserWriter 12/600 in the Printers list (or click the make and model of your color printer, if known), and then click Next.
- In the Printer name box, type the name that you want to use for this printer.
- Under Do you want your Windows-based programs to use this printer as the default printer?, click No, and then click Next.
- Click Do not share this printer (if it is not already selected), and then click Next.
- Under Do you want to print a test page, click No, click Next, and then click Finish.
NOTE: If you selected the Apple LaserWriter 12/600 printer driver but you intend to print to a different color printer, the preview may not be completely accurate for your printer. - Follow the steps in the How to Switch to a Color Printer Driver section of this article.

How to Switch to a Color Printer Driver- Start PowerPoint, and then open the presentation that you want to preview in color.
- On the File menu, click Print.
- In the Name list, click the color printer that you added, and then click Preview.
