SYMPTOMS

After you install any of the devices (or their related software) listed at the beginning of this article, you may experience one of the following symptoms:
  • The Microsoft Windows operating system does not detect that the device has been plugged in to the universal serial bus (USB) port.
  • The device does not work in a game.
  • The device may be incorrectly detected as a GamePad.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if your system has a Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) or cable modem sharing the same Universal Serial Bus (USB) port.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue either disconnect the USB DSL/Cable Modem or connect either your USB DSL/Cable modem to a NIC (Network Interface Card) on your computer.
