OL2000: Outlook Today is Garbled After You Apply the Office SR-1 (284926)

When you open Outlook Today, it may show a string of characters and numbers instead of a list of messages or tasks.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs after you install the Microsoft Office Service Release 1 (SR-1). There is an issue with the Outlwvw.dll file that creates the Outlook Today page.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, rename and re-install the Outlwvw.dll file.
How to Rename the Outlwvw.dll File- Exit Outlook.
- Click Start, point to Find or Search, and then click File or Folders or For Files or Folders (depending on your operating system).
- Locate the Outlwvw.dll file.
- When you have located the file, right-click the file name, and then click Rename.
- Type outlwvw.old as the new file name.
How to Re-install the Outlwvw.dll File
Insert the Microsoft Office 2000 CD-1 in your CD-ROM drive and start Microsoft Outlook 2000. The Windows Installer automatically starts and reinstalls the Outlwvw.dll file.
