ACC2002: Access Quits Unexpectedly When You Click the Edit Menu in Design View of a Data Access Page (284904)

SYMPTOMS
When you click the Edit menu in Design view of a data access page, you receive the following error message, and then Access quits:
Microsoft Access has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when the Speech Recognition feature in Access is enabled and in Voice Command mode, and you have an ActiveX control either selected or activated.
RESOLUTION
You can avoid this issue by temporarily disabling Speech Recognition before you use the Edit menu. To temporarily disable Speech Recognition, follow these steps:
- On the Language bar, click Microphone to turn it off.
- Use the Edit menu to make the changes that you want to make.
- On the Language bar, click Microphone to turn it back on.
