A Request May Not Be Returned from the Cache When a Responsible Server Is Down (284659)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000

This article was previously published under Q284659

SYMPTOMS

If an Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server array member that cached a specific URL (or Web address) is unavailable or down and a client requests the same URL through another array member, the cache is not checked on the first request for that URL, and the response is not cached. For each URL that was cached on a server that is no longer available, one request is issued to the Internet, bypassing the cache on other members.

This issue occurs only for the first request.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
