The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Outlook 2000

This article was previously published under Q284438

SYMPTOMS

If you delete a folder and empty the Deleted Items folder, the folder that you deleted is still available in the Most Recently Used list.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because when you delete the folder, it does not remove it from the Most Recently Used list.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, do not try to use the folder after you have deleted it. For example, do not publish a form to the folder by using the Publish Form As command.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

The Most Recently Used list is stored in your default delivery location, which can be either your Microsoft Exchange Server mailbox or a Personal Folders (.pst) file. You cannot remove a folder from the Most Recently Used list when you delete it, but the folder disappears from the Most Recently Used list after you use other folders.
