OL2002: Addresses Are Not Imported from Internet Mail and News (284419)

SYMPTOMS

When you select the option to import Mail and Address items from Microsoft Internet Mail and News 3.x to Outlook 2002, the Mail items are imported but the Addresses items are not.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because Outlook 2002 does not support the importing of addresses from Internet Mail and News 3.x.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, upgrade Internet Mail and News 3.x to Microsoft Outlook Express 4.01 or higher, or Microsoft Outlook Express 5.0 or higher. After the addresses are in Microsoft Outlook Express, you can import Mail and Address items to Outlook 2002.
