OL2002: Delay in Delivering a New Message to the Personal Folder Inbox (284405)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q284405 SYMPTOMS
When you configure Outlook to gain access to an Exchange Server mailbox and deliver new messages to a personal folder (.pst) file, a new message takes about 45 seconds to be downloaded to the .pst file, though it appears in the Inbox almost immediately.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because Outlook 2002 checks the Exchange Server for new messages only once a minute. This behavior is by design.
