OL2002: Reminder Dialog Box Does Not Work Properly When No Appointment Is Selected (284388)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Outlook 2002

This article was previously published under Q284388

SYMPTOMS

If you click a blank area of an appointment Reminder dialog box, instead of clicking an actual appointment, the dialog box exhibits non-standard behavior. The subject and location data disappear from the dialog box, and the Snooze display is blank.

If you click Open, nothing happens. If you click Dismiss, the first appointment in the list is highlighted, the Snooze reminder time changes to 5 minutes, but the dialog box does not close. If you manually type a Snooze reminder time while no appointment is selected, and then click Dismiss, the time reverts to 5 minutes and the dialog box does not close.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because no appointment is selected.

WORKAROUND

Select an appointment item before you attempt to open or dismiss the dialog box or change the Snooze time.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
