OL2002: Adding Name and Internet Address from Message Displays Name but Omits Internet Address (284384)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q284384 SYMPTOMS
When you receive a message from someone who has an Internet address, and you then add that address to your Address Book, the name that appears in the Display As box may not include the Internet address.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because Outlook does not create uniform display names for the Display As box. Instead, Outlook uses the display name that appears in an imported Contact, Address Book entry, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) lookup, or e-mail message.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, delete the name in the Display As box, and then either press the TAB key to move out of the box and let Outlook populate it, or type the name and address as you want them to appear.
