OL2002: Windows Address Book Distribution List Members Missing After Upgrade to Outlook 2002 (284353)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q284353 SYMPTOMS
After you upgrade from Outlook 2000 Internet Mail Only (IMO) to Outlook 2002, members of Windows Address Book distribution lists from your Outlook 2000 Address Book may be absent from Outlook 2002.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you choose not to import the Windows Address Book file to a Contact Address Book file when Outlook 2002 is first launched after you upgrade. Outlook 2002 does not use the Windows Address Book; therefore, you must import it in order to make the Distribution List member information available.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, manually import the Windows Address Book data:
- On the File menu, click Import and Export.
- Click Import Internet Addresses and E-mail, and then click Next.
- Click Outlook Express 4.x, 5, and then click Next.
- Click to select the Address Book check box, and then click Finish.
