OL2002: Rule Does Not Work for SMTP Message Sent to an Exchange Store (284313)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q284313 SYMPTOMS
When you create a rule on a client that is connected to an Exchange Server store, and another client sends a message by using Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP), the rule does not work.
CAUSE
The behavior can occur because the search keys that initiate rules do not match. If a message is sent by using SMTP, the search key is composed of the address type SMTP and does not match the EX address type search key generated by the recipient.
