This article was previously published under Q284299 SYMPTOMS
When you unsubscribe from an Internet Messaging Access Protocol (IMAP) folder and you stop the query process, the Apply button is not active and the folder cannot be removed from the subscription list.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the unsubscribe command was not completed because the system was in the process of downloading the folder information from the IMAP store.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, unsubscribe from the folder. To do this:
- Select the folder again.
- Click Unsubscribe.
- Click Apply.
If the above steps do not work, you may need to wait longer for the folder information to finish downloading.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATION
If you have a large number of folders that you subscribe to, it can take a significant amount of time to download the folder header information to the local computer. This process needs to be completed before changes can be made to the subscription folders. This includes newsgroup folders.
