When you run a search for objects embedded in Microsoft Exchange messages (such as Microsoft Office documents) that are indexed through content sources, these objects cannot be found.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because SharePoint Portal Server is unable to index OLE-embedded message content. OLE-embedded objects are those documents inserted in a message when you click Object on the Insert menu in Microsoft Outlook.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, attach documents to messages as file attachments.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
