PIP2001: Help Topic for "Thought Bubbles" Has Inaccurate Step (283893)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Help to add a speech or thought bubble in one of the programs listed at the beginning of this article, step 4 instructs you to do the following:

Click the Text collection, and then click Speech Bubbles.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because Text is not listed as a collection. Although there are thought or speech bubbles available in the clip art of the versions listed above, the collection Text is not available.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Select the picture that you want to add a speech or thought bubble to.
  2. In the Options list, click Add Something, and then click Cutout, picture or clip.
  3. Click Picture or cutout from the Gallery.
  4. Click the Find tab.
  5. Type Speech Bubble, and then click Find.
  6. Drag the speech bubble to the tray.

    Or double-click the speech bubble in the selection that appears in the right pane. The speech bubble will be added to your photo project.

You can create a category named "Text" and add the speech bubbles to it. If you choose to do this, you can follow the steps in Help and select the Text option that is listed under My Collection.

To create and populate a "Text" category with "Speech Bubbles" or "Thought Bubbles", follow these steps:
  1. Start Picture It! Photo.
  2. On the Homepage screen, click Show my pictures and projects tab.
  3. Under Organize Pictures, click In the Gallery.
  4. On the Edit Gallery menu, click Add, rename or delete a gallery.
  5. In the Add, rename or delete a gallery dialog box, click Add.
  6. Under Type a new category name, type Text, and then click OK.
  7. Click Close.
  8. On the Edit Gallery menu, click Change gallery information or remove items from the gallery.
  9. Click the Find tab.
  10. Type Speech bubble, and then click Find.
  11. Select the item that you want to categorize as text.

    You can hold down CTRL , continue clicking to select more than one item, and then click Next.
  12. Again, select the item you want to categorize as text.

    You can hold down CTRL and continue clicking to select more than one item.
  13. Under Catgories, click to place a check mark in front of Text (if not already there), and then click Text to highlight it.
  14. Click Apply.
  15. Click Done.
