SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Project 2000, the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) code changes unexpectedly after you save changes to a Microsoft Project file.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when the Microsoft Project file is connected to a resource pool and the option Generate WBS code for new task is selected.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, upgrade to Microsoft Project 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1). Microsoft Project 2000 SR-1 contains modified code to help prevent the WBS code from changing when you save new revisions.
