The Accessibility Settings Are Not Updated on the Help and Support Services Pages (283812)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition
This article was previously published under Q283812 SYMPTOMS
After you have configured the contrast, font size, color, magnifier, and other accessibility settings, the Help and Support Services pages still display the normal fonts, size, colors, and contrast settings, instead of your customized settings. Some Help and Support Services pages are displayed in high contrast, but most of them are still displayed with the normal settings.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because the Help and Support Center uses Microsoft Internet Explorer for the user interface, which uses separate tools for customized settings of colors, fonts, and accessibility. The settings in the Accessibility wizard are for the system.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, you must configure Internet Explorer to ignore the settings specified on the Web pages, by doing the following steps: - Start Internet Explorer. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- On the General tab, click the Accessibility button.
- In the Formatting section, click to select the three check boxes.
- Click OK.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
