An error occurs when you save a PowerPoint 2000 presentation or a PowerPoint 97 presentation to ODMA server (283785)

This article was previously published under Q283785 SYMPTOMS When you try to save a revised Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 presentation or a revised Microsoft PowerPoint 97 for Windows presentation to a
document management system that does not allow changes to prior versions, you
may receive the following error message:
There was an error accessing <file name> presentation.
However, the Open Document Management API (ODMA) 2.0 specification requires
that a client allow the document management system to provide its own handling
for this situation. CAUSEPowerPoint 2000 and PowerPoint 97 only support ODMA 1.0. There is
currently no plan to support ODMA 2.0 in future versions of Microsoft
PowerPoint. At this time, only Microsoft Word from the Microsoft Office product
suite continues to enhance its ODMA support.
