After you attach a USB keyboard to your Windows XP-based computer, you cannot disable a universal serial bus (USB) host controller, a USB root hub, or other device in Device Manager.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because of the keyboard's being a system-critical device. Attaching the USB keyboard removes the disable option from the Properties menu for the USB device.
STATUSThis behavior is by design.
