Cannot Find Windows NTBackup Folder and Catalog Files in Windows XP (283547)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to manually browse to the Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\NTBackup\Catalogs folder, you do not find the NTBackup folder and its catalog files.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because Windows XP saves NTBackup catalog files to a different location from where Windows 2000 saves them.

Windows XP saves catalog files to the following location:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\NTBackup\catalogs51

Windows 2000 saves these files to the following location:

Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\NTBackup\Catalogs
