Multifunction Print Driver May Have Print Only Support (283268)

SYMPTOMS

All of the features in a Multifunction Print Driver (MFP) may not be available.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur because you may be using the wrong driver.

NOTE: The following MFP drivers that are included with Windows provide print-only capability:
  • Hewlett-Packard Office Jet 300
  • Hewlett-Packard Office Jet 330
  • Hewlett-Packard Office Jet 350
  • Hewlett-Packard Laser Jet 3200 Series PCL

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, obtain a recent MFP driver from the printer manufacturer that is designed for the specific MFP device that you are using. Monolithic MFP drivers from the manufacturer can be fairly large, so you may want to request a CD-ROM from the manufacturer if one is available.

MORE INFORMATION

Most MFP drivers that are included in Windows usually have print and scan functionality with "walk-up" fax and copy support, provided that the manufacturer of the MFP device also provides that functionality.
